ROOD: Personal Dining Brand Identity

Glad You are Here

The project began as an organic desire to formalize a positive social experience: hosting intimate, multi-course dinner parties. The challenge was to transform this casual culinary ritual into a cohesive, memorable brand experience capable of scaling in format—from informal family-style meals to structured, multi-course dining. The brand required an identity that captured the feeling of positive energy, community, and culinary sophistication inherent in the dining experience.

Solution: Conceptual Brand Identity

I created the brand identity "ROOD," inspired by the nickname for my home, "Robin's Hood." The design concept integrates typography, geometry, and negative space to visually represent the dinner table and the energy of the meal.

Logo and Concept Rationale

The logo design is a visual metaphor for the dining experience:

  • Geometry & Negative Space: The rectangular form of the word "ROOD" uses the negative space within "OOD" to resemble three plates set on a communal table, directly linking the typography to the culinary function.

  • The "R" and Energy: The custom-designed letter 'R' anchors the logo and is paired with lines added to the remaining letters to symbolize the gradual rise of positive energy or "vibe" that grows throughout the meal.

  • Brand Essence: The final identity system is versatile, allowing for application across physical elements (menus, tablescapes) and digital platforms, ensuring the experience is cohesive and memorable for guests.
